“VolksLesen.tv in Brussels” draws a portrait of the belgian capitol. We set the focus on what the city really represents - the residents. “VolksLesen in Brussels” is a cultural event during which the people of the city may read to their neighbors. At the same time the city is presented to the world.
VolksLesen is about people, not about politics.
If VolksLesen had started 30 years ago, we could take a look back in the 80s. We could see how the appearance of the people and their language manners have changed. Due to books we can learn what is important to people. VolksLesen is a reflection of our cultural identity.
In the first three years the project “VolksLesen” has documented reading habits in Berlin. Now we are changing our location every three months, in order to explore the interests and fantasies of people in other areas. So far, people have been invited to read aloud in the Wachau, in Bergen auf Rügen, in Zurich and in Coburg.
VolksLesen is more beautiful, if more people see it. We are looking for advice in public realtions.
