The idea is based on the power of art to heal, raise awareness, combat social stigma and diminish negative attitude towards the strange and the unknown. YOUTH INTERACTING IN ATHENS focuses on social inclusion and empowerment within the framework of promotion of human rights and the concept of active citizenship, through tailor-made activities such as meetings, relevant events, cultural happenings and theatrical games and performances.

Where will your idea take place?

The idea will take place in the greater area of Athens, Greece.

Why does Europe need your idea?

Nowadays, mobile populations in Europe are reshaping its profile. Social inclusion is of imperative character. The idea reflects the notion of the common understanding and acceptance of the two-fold nature of social inclusion procedure and fundamentally connected to the principle of interaction.

What is your impact?

The participants are youth from different backgrounds: locals, refugees, second generation, and asylum seekers. The interactive activities, the participation and the experience will create social bonds that will enhance social inclusion.

How do you get there?

Art Acting has been working on social inclusion of vulnerable social groups. The novelty is found within the nature of activities (art – mainly theatre) which functions as a means towards catharsis and social and personal development. It is highly important that these activities are addressed to young people. The activities are tailor-made and reflect the needs and wishes of young people within nowadays Europe.

What is your story?

The daily reality and expectations of mobile populations in Europe – especially of youth. The value and importance of a holistic social inclusion which will combine both - through art and active participation.

The participants are youth from different backgrounds: locals, refugees, second generation, and asylum seekers. The interactive activities, the participation and the experience will create social bonds that will enhance social inclusion.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

Anything that will improve our appoach and our idea in itself!
