Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

Up for the Planet aims to give everyone a chance to participate in the making of 20 proposals for future generations. A broad online consultation platform allows people to share and discuss ideas, and contribute to the development of actionable suggestions to be presented to Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and at the next G20 summit scheduled for the fall of 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Where will your idea take place?

Any French- or English-speaking citizen of the world may take part in the debate.

Why does Europe need your idea?

With the 2017 G20 in Germany, Europe is a key player in international policy changes. Faith in international legal tools to regulate state behavior is decreasing. PEA offers citizen an opportunity to access bottom-up democracy and share solutions for future generations.

What is your impact?

Gather over 2,000 proposals from the general public by February 28, 2018.
Gather the general public full support to the 20 final proposals.
See G20 leaders commit to a 12-month plan for our 20 proposals, to defend the fate of future generations.

How do you get there?

This global citizen discussion will generate ideas through online deliberations by February 28, 2018. 20 proposals will be retained by 3 expert groups and published in a written report in September, 2018. Supported by citizens across the world, final proposals will be presented to the President of the French Republic, brought to G20 leaders in Argentina in the Fall of 2018, then presented at the 2nd Global Positive Forum held by Positive Planet in Paris.

What is your story?

Governments don’t seem to succeed alone, and international meetings take place, yet major issues faced by future generations aren’t considered. Positive Planet is launching UP FOR THE PLANET to encourage citizens around the world to participate in this debate and make the world a better place.

Who are you doing it for?

If heads of states are the stakeholders of this project, Up for the Planet aims to involve world citizens and future generations.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

As we are facing more difficulties than expected in collecting ideas on our platform, we would appreciate feedback on the platform ergonomy and attractiveness from a communications and digital standpoint.
