Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

Tideland will be a street newspaper whose distribution network will be exclusively linked to sellers in the position of beggars, with an editorial proposal capable of faceing a big audience for the qualitative value and not as camouflage alms . With a editorial board network between three European cities, and contents entrusted to external voluntary and free assignments, by media professionals dedicated to transparency, human rights and culture.

Where will your idea take place?

Barcelona, Spain
Torino, Italy
Berlin, Germany

Why does Europe need your idea?

Whilst it proposes the diffusion of a good journalism as public service, essential for cohabitation and for powers balance in a democracy, furthermore it proposes an emergency solution for subjects in situations of marginality: an essential income improvement to restart social integration mechanism.

What is your impact?

News, reports, culture from all over the world chosen by a network of professionals in three European cities, accessible to anyone, not just the “insiders”. And generating to sellers a first small step towards the exit from beggars, now unacceptable in Europe of 2018.

How do you get there?

Contacting with the social structures to identify the vendors and set up the system just as the street newspaper models already in use.
Developing the editorial board network and managing the contacts with journalists, photographers, intellectuals linked to social and cultural fields, who are willing to collaborate with the project.
Identifying the additional private and public sources of funding collaborating switch for the high visibility that would give them the street distribution.

What is your story?

I believe both are essential for democracy:
-information that responds to quality criteria: waiver of conditioning the audiences, formation of a critical public opinion, objectivity, transparency
- to avoid social deprivation that do not even guarantee the minimum necessary to personal dignity.

Who are you doing it for?

-Subjects in a situation of beggars, as immigrants without documents just arrived, homeless etc
-All: those who want to leave the phone in their pockets when they get on the metro, get informed and reason.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

Any suggestion is more than welcome. Please do not hesitate to ask for explanations or additional details if something is not clear.
