TheCityGame is a mobile application, which empowers users to perform good actions for the environment and society in a rewarding and convenient way on a daily basis.
The problems that TheCityGame helps solve are the obvious environmental and social problems we are facing, at the level of individual and his/her contributions. Taking action at the individual level is very important here, and can bring much more impact than a top-down centralized mandate, law or directive.
Many of the missions directly reduce greenhouse emissions when performed. (electricity consumption, transportation, and home heating ) In respect to society, TheCityGame is a way to engage the young generation in an innovative, inclusive and sustainable Europe, and uses ICT complimented by an innovative business model to enable social innovation in the community.
The overall objective is to grow TheCityGame, the mobile application that educates motivates and rewards good actions around the environment and society, into a massively popular application and to place it in the hands of citizens world-wide in order to help them with achieving a more sustainable lifestyle and spreading the word.
The immediate goal is to prove that TheCityGame works; namely that users download the application, they engage with it, they perform actions both at home and at designated places, and that commercial partners see the value and are willing to pay for it.
We are already thrilled when our first users tell us that they love the application, and will be even more thrilled when we help NGOs in raising donations and local organizations mobilize volunteers.
Our next milestone is closing 3 clients in the next 4 months. On the technical side we want to ship the iOS application in 2 months. User-wise we are looking to get at least 10k users in the next 4 months (through tapping in to the relevant communities).
The other major milestone is adding one click donations (next 4 months) and setting up a non- profit to be able to handle accepting donations on behalf of other organizations, and building internal friending.
