Idea pitch

The European imp!act Academy takes young Europeans on a journey that empowers them to become actors of change, who inspire thousands of others in turn. That's how we create a Europe united in diversity, in which young people believe in themselves and take the lead for a more sustainable future.

Where will your idea take place?

Different, European, Countries

Why does Europe need your idea?

Europe needs our idea because our concept really makes a difference on three levels. Firstly, in the lives of the participants and all the young people they reach with their events. They develop their competencies, become more confident, and will find jobs more easily in the future. Secondly, the projects created at imp!act events will have a highly positive impact on society and the environment, strengthening local communities. Thirdly, through the EIA young people will create partnerships across national borders. In a phase of prevailing euroscepticism, economic crisis, and high rates of youth unemployment, our project empowers the next generation of European leaders that will foster collaboration among countries and strengthen our continent’s social and international cohesion.

What is your impact?

A successful outcome of the European imp!act Academy (EIA) would be to have participants from at least 12 different countries in our programme. This would mean that within just six months after the start of the project, the EIA participants would organize at least 12 imp!act events, empowering up to 600 young people (12*50) all over Europe to create their own sustainable projects, many of which reach more people in turn.

How do you get there?

During our initial 4.5 days training, we will transfer all our skills and knowledge to these participants so they can spread the changemaker virus all across Europe. The European imp!act Academy benefits from various pilot projects that have already been carried out. One of them, the International euforia Training Programme, taking place this May in Switzerland, is a first prototype in which we collaborate with different international partners. If we receive funding from the Advocate Europe Challenge, the first European imp!act Academy could happen still within 2015.
