Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

Students in context with the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 present and create their ideas, wishes, and dreams, in public, of a united Europe, in analogue and digital form. “Europe – united in diversity.” This can be realized through realistic drawings, or expressive paintings, Graffiti, Comic style or Tape art – the language of arts expressed, is manifold, like the students themselves. On canvases the ribbon will showcase the visions and diversity of the participants.

Where will your idea take place?

We are starting at public places in Berlin, Erfurt, Essen and spanning the idea all over Europe.

Why does Europe need your idea?

The participants will document their ideas, feelings and sensitivities in various regions of Europe by photographs, film clips, short interviews. Thereby, they will introduce themselves, explaining their cultural background / where they come from and their artistic work-telling their personal story!

What is your impact?

Europe-wide ideas for the further design of Europe were exchanged and initiated/ different points of view made visible through the arts inspiring, provocative, innovative, own shared visions with other people – a stable network has been built by a Think Tank for Europe (ECTT) on a regular basis.

How do you get there?

Similar to the German reunification we do need the different thinking of young artists who can bring forward our idea. As a mock-up, we have initiated the Delphic Art Wall at the Federal Academy for Security Policies / Palace Schönhausen under the patronage of the Senator for Culture and Europe Dr. Klaus Lederer. There will be presence days at various locations as well as the development of an App in order to be always in contact with young participants to sort and share their various ideas.

What is your story?

People are building up walls and restrictions against others. Art could or better can reach a breakthrough and can build a free and open-minded Europe.
We can demonstrate that positive thinking - especially different groups working together – and are changing Europe.

Who are you doing it for?

We would like to reach pupils of all type of schools up to 17 years, despite their race (minorities, immigrants), color and religion. Furthermore we are integrating their teachers, parents and artists as target group studying how to integrate European thinking into cultural activities.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

We would like to connect with others working on the idea of a unified Europe by making further contacts, receiving inspirations and gaining tips of how to receive the aims. All of us should be working together and not in competition.
