There are walls that speak and, with their words, inspire. "Talking walls" aims to multiply them around Europe inviting citizens to share their aspirations about Europe on the public space. What is the Europe you dream of? Say it out loud! Write up your thoughts on your city’s “Talking wall”.

it is inclusive, creative and inspiring; projecting Europe as a driving continent with cultural richness and diversity at its core. In other words, it has the power to awaken emotional cultural connections while opening up dialogue within the community. Indeed making use of the power of art to strengthen European cohesion by means of a positive experiences. Empowers involvement and allows to highlight the “European spirit”. An inspiring collective creative action which with a simple and enjoyable proposal articulates education, arts and culture, democracy and participation. A cross-border initiative with civil society at its core, and transnational impact. But above all, it is fun!
To promote the idea of a common Europe, where each and everyone has the power to contribute. The resulting murals will indeed work at local level, but also, and by means of a structured on-line and media strategy, we could generate interactions across the participating and non-participating cities at European and even global scale. We want to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Agenda 21 for culture, which fosters to turn culture into a fourth pillar of sustainable development.
Also promote and highlight European values as the foundations to articulate the confluence of European peoples and cultures. This proposal is willing to thrive cultural diversity and contribute to successfully face the challenges of the promotion of human rights under UN directions.
1. Make use of “Advocate Europe” organizers network of cultural institutions to connect with strategic local partners (involving local cultural agents as much as possible). 2. Discuss best practices with local organizations, implement them on the project proposal. 3. Define the map of action: cities & walls where intervention takes place. 4. Define list of local artists who will complement murals implementing their personal input & contributing to the artistic quality of the resulting murals. 5. Define specific production needs & resources and plan a calendar for project development. 6. Set up the necessary communication strategy (social & traditional media strategies). 7. Coordinate project development implementing necessary actions to gran successful results. 8. Evaluate results.

Community is at the core of "Talking Walls", their involvement makes it real in each and every city. The resulting murals are in fact the result of shared experiences. Every composition and message comes from the community and returns to it re-generating the sense of belonging of their members.
