Trade Union Youth plus
We need Super Heros of our time and we recognise young precarious workers as such, because they are the one who fight for survival everyday.
There is a trend of growing precariousness on the labour market In Europe and young people are faced with precarious forms of work. The unemployment rate among young people is higher among other groups. All of these young people at European level, not only in Slovenia are pushed to the margins of society, where their rights are often limited, if not violated, particularly in labor relations. Young and precarious workers are often isolated (due to the nature of work) and therefore very difficult to obtain all the necessary information about their rights - both in terms of labor legislation, such as the possibility of participation in the processes of decision-making which come from the rights that based from the employment relationship (this is to be understood as all forms of work).
The number of young workers in Slovenia aware of their rights will increase. Our "Expert-on-the-move" will give workers all the information on the rights and on ways of fighting for them and protecting them. Workers contacted through activities will get support by the youth trade union to connect with other precarious workers. Participation in the field of labour rights will increase significantly. We will change the perception of workers rights as a boring and unimportant subject through a creative and fun campaign. More young workers will have concrete knowledge on the strategies of protecting rights. They will understand that precariousness can manifest itself in various ways and will therefore relate themselves directly to the movement, the community of precarious workers.
Field work:done by our Expert-on-the-move on a bike who will access workspaces that our youth trade union has recognized as problematic. This legal expert will provide informations, material and advice to these workers during her visits. She will collect personal stories of precarious workers. They will be encouraged to connect with other precarious workers through online platform.Online campaign: Each month one story will be selected(via contest)and presented through our Super Hero-mannequin dressed, photographed as a kind of precarious worker with a description-this will have broader reach through social media and raise awareness of the campaign as well as the information provided. At the end of the year there will be a comic made from the stories. This will be available online and printed
