Democracy in Europe is challenged by iliberalism,xenophobia,hate-speech, XXexit.
It is necessary to go back to true historical roots of EU-namely European Commission of Danube back in 1856, forefather of Community of Coal&Steel 1951.
A research is needed to compare threats then & now and menaces to democracy then & now.

Running workshops paralleling situations then & now & making people aware about preserving democratic values & the need not to repeat past mistakes
Ignoring history traps you in a loop.
Young generations not knowing history give credit to nationalism and hate currents.
It is our duty to fix injustice made to ECD - not being acknowledged as the first European institution that heralded EU.
ECD HQ were in the most eastern point of Danube, in Sulina - Romania & as far it got since.
Citizens in countries along Danube and countries that took part in ECD, as well as for all other EU citizens and candidate states, who should know where EU roots came from.

how better express that history&social memory knowledge is the only way to prevent harmful experiences through repeating former mistakes ()WWs, dictatorships, etc? how to emphasize the fact that it was the NEED that led to EU formation for not to encounter hard times and to keep nationalism away.
