Idea pitch

We passionately believe children need an environment that inspires and encourages them to discover their personal 'art'. Our aim is to spark aha-experiences that encourage children to follow their dreams and ignite an entrepreneurial spirit that leads to a positive and sustainable impact on society

Where will your idea take place?

Zurich, Switzerland, Berne, Switzerland, St. Gallen, Switzerland

Why does Europe need your idea?

Traditional industries and ways of working are being swept away by new technologies and business models. To tackle stagnant economies and high unemployment requires different skills. The future workforce need a new mindset to cope with uncertainty in order to thrive in the 21st Century. Continuing to educate kids with the status quo will see Europe drop further behind.
Children need to learn how to design, develop and deliver sustainable solutions. Each of us is born with imagination and dreams. We each possess unique gifts through which we can make the greatest contribution. Our current system educates that out of us. Solutions to global challenges are not out here. They are inside us. To prevent future crises we must build a sustainable & conscious society -starting with our children.

What is your impact?

Our goal is to develop a modular educational program for children aged 6-13 years, that can be delivered by anyone passionate about children. It consists of an ever-expanding number of modules aimed at fostering a social entrepreneurial mindset in children. Examples of these modules vary from the power of empathy to creativity, leadership and independent thinking.
We create the on- and offline foundation of the program and the structure of the individual modules so they are compatible, internationally expandable, scalable and straight-forward. There is an amazing number of people who are dedicating their (spare) time to children, be it with arts, technology or through transgenerational exchange. Our aim is to bring them together through the program allowing a win/win for all concerned.

How do you get there?

- Association: sustainability will be at the core of our business model, both financially and motivationally for all stakeholders. We will found a non-profit association and seek development funding.
- Program Framework and the Modular Structure: A Master thesis will be written by Jacqueline Bürki on the program, which gives it a solid academic foundation and guarantees the contribution of further experts in the field.
- The Community: provide the growing community of passionate contributors with an online platform through which they can support us building up the different modules.
- Prototype of the first program: continually and iteratively learn and further evolve the program.
-Alumni network: children who return in the future will teach and give back to the program.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

We’ve evangelized the concept which resulted in many people contacting us and offering support. As a result of this outreach, last month, nearly 30 adults & children from diverse backgrounds came together at one of Switzerland’s most progressive schools to help us refine our vision further.
