Idea pitch

Share Your Dreams Europe! will be a web based platform for inhabitants of Europe to document and share their dreams with the public. Users will be able to submit either a written text, a video blog, or a personal interpretation of a dream that they have had recently or reoccuringly.

Why does Europe need your idea?

Dreams have fascinated the worlds population for as long as humans have walked the earth. Dreams will continue to be a fascinating place for exploring both the belief system(s) of a society at a specific point in history, as well as creating a footprint of the collective (sub)conscious activity of a culture. Europe needs to know what its citizens are dreaming about. The world needs people to share their dreams, not of what could be or of what they hope could be possible, but the dreams that they are having on a nightly basis. By collecting and sharing these dreams that the population is actually having, we can build a picture of what people dream about and explore how much, if at all, these dreams change between nations and cultures. Share Your Dreams Europe! will be shared globally.

What is your impact?

Share Your Dreams Europe! will be grow and evolve as we build our archive of dream diaries and expand the scope of the participants beyond the European continent to other parts of the globe. By focusing on dreams that participants have had and not things they 'dream' may come true we can gather and collect a one of a kind archive of what citizens of todays Europe are dreaming about. By bringing the discourse of dreams back to the population and exploring/ navigating the under-explored terrain of dream interpretation, we will be able to build a collection of data which could be used for both scientific and academic purposes, as well as being useful for connecting people from different cultures who are simply curious about the dreams of others.

How do you get there?

Fall 2015 (October): Begin to generate buzz about the project and publicly announce our project. Specific individuals and institutions will be targeted based on the high probability of their support and assistance in getting word out about what we will do.
Winter 2015/2016 (December/ January): Publicly publish our website ( Work on promoting and education about the site and our goal. Encourage participation and begin collecting data.
Spring 2016 (April/May): Begin archiving submissions already provided and building an accessible archive of these submissions while continuing to seek participants
Summer 2016 (August): Develop an app that can be used on smart phones and portable devices to make the dream collection/ submission easier for participants.
