Want to organise an unforgettable school trip for your class? Share school projects with teachers from other countries? Save on time and money?
S’CoolTrips is the platform that will help European teachers plan international school trips in a more meaningful and sustainable way.
In Europe, the Common Framework for Europe Competence (CFEC) is a perfect start to prepare youth to become tomorrow's European citizens and support exchange of best teaching practises among European teachers. However, schools are still struggling to form students that are “informed European citizen who can access, process and evaluate knowledge relevant to Europe and the wider world, and act upon it” (CFEC). Our project would contribute to improve European key competences as we feel our project would provide schools a concrete tool to internationalise their educational programmes. Sharing platforms can now provide the digital environment to act on a European level, allowing a circulation of knowledge that would have not been possible 10 years ago.
In a year time we foresee a self-sustaining platform and community that enables students, teachers and schools to plan their unforgettable school trips within Europe and share best teaching practises. The way school trips will be integrated in the schools curriculum will change as a result of the introduction of our platform and growing community. The new approach will enable teachers and students to learn new skills and internationalize their educational programme. Our project will contribute to broaden the horizon of European school students and help them to become an European citizen. Students will use the opportunity to stay in contact with same age students in order to exchange on language, holiday destinations and their international network, fostering a true European spirit.
The project will begin as soon as we have seed money to launch it; we plan 18 months work to the launch of the platform. It is important that teachers actively participate to the design of the platform that must reflect their needs and constraints. We want to offer a service that will improve school trips experience; we are indeed aware that teachers are overwhelmed with requests to participate to educational projects that might be very useful on the long term but very time consuming, too. We will organize a work group of teachers, students and experts from different countries that meet and talk regularly. Once the framework is established, we will work on the platform and the related services, including a toolkit to prepare school trips in the most efficient way.
