Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

Czech Republic is struggling with dangerous illiberal tendencies that have managed to transform into political power, divide the society and raise tensions. We believe there is a way out through vibrant active civil society engaged in everyday challenges of its citizens.
We want to share our almost 30 yrs of knowledge in public campaigning, community building, volunteering, media work etc. with active people, train them and help them to be not only active, but also competent and successful.

Where will your idea take place?

Eco-centres and educational centres located in rural areas.

Why does Europe need your idea?

EU need competent citizens, who are well connected and don't hesitate to defend values of common Europe by leading by example in their communities. We need to bring engagement to people of every age. Europe need to thrive with civil initiatives and we can help to make it happen.

What is your impact?

We will have more citizens capable to address issues they are facing on local level. They will be not only active, but also competent and well connected with other relevant actors in civil society. So the frustration of people can be resolved by engagement instead of voting hatred and apathy.

How do you get there?

Trainings, networking, sharing, open space and connection to current initiatives participants can join, or we help them to create their own by mentoring and support.

Important feature of the project is focus on age balance. We try to have participants of every age in our group, so they can learn from each other and learn about different perspectives. That is also reason why we have program in Czech, so we can include also older people or people who do not speak english.

What is your story?

We believe that protection of nature and environment need strong, healthy and active civil society, which is competent and brave enough to face injustices and to promote good solutions.

Who are you doing it for?

Active citizens, or at least people with “proactive” attitude towards challenges we are facing. It is important to show positive examples, to come up with solutions and inspire others to be engaged from local to state level. Important added value is networking.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

We want to bring new ideas to improve our program. Also we would like to have a skillshare on how to support our graduates after trainings end. We always strive to get better, so the possibility of becoming part of Advocate Europe is added value for us.
