El-Recetario.net is a collaborative platform for research, experimentation and use of waste to build objects, spaces and systems, where the user community shares everything they do and how they do it, learning from it and collaborating with others. It combines: Research on waste materials and its reuse as a raw material for new objects; Creation of shareable and modifiable manuals; Interaction and collaboration between community users; Continuous feedback between digital and physical space.
El-Recetario.net is born from the need to create an open repository of objects based on reusing waste (resources) to share its design and processes. Although being a virtual platform, El-Recetario.net is a tool strongly linked to the physical space. Work and collaboration of users goes beyond the virtual limits to participate in the constructive process of our own environment, by empowering us, making us (re)discover its importance and valuing the results.
The aim of El-Recetario.net strategy is to generate a distributed network of thinkers, creators, producers and users, proposing a sustainable model based on collaboration, open design and distributed production. The project proposes to evolve and amplify the capacities of interaction and production of the platform community, to create collaborative work groups, local nodes, a geo-localization and multi-lingual tool to overcome language barriers and start to interact with communities all over the
The project for the expansion of El-Recetario.net platform is structured in four phases:
a) DEFINITION: Workshops with current user community and other stakeholders to define the new version.
b) TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT: introducing improvements as tools for distributed evaluation content, navigation, increasing interaction among users, reorganization of the interface, resource viewing, geo-localization and multi-lingual tool, amongst others.
b) TESTER PAHSE of field work with self-managed spaces, projects of urban regeneration, design schools, maker spaces and other communities for testing the beta version by documenting these experiences. To allow new alliances and to feedback the project we also propose open activities like workshops and presentations.
c) EVALUATION and next steps.
The target groups are the different agents that actively participate in the collective construction of the Habitat and its environment through the smart use of resources. Some are: organized and proactive citizens; schools and universities that are opened to explore collaborative an open learning models; companies and professionals based on a distributed, social, collaborative economy; Technological centers, FabLabs, Maker Spaces, Hack Spaces.
El-Recetario.net is a place where designers, makers, architects and lovers of DIY and self-assembly, meet with collective projects, institutions and educational, cultural or technological centers, to create smart communities that break with traditional patterns and propose open and free solutions, through research and learning to this changing world where we want to live together in a conscious and comfortable way.
