Idea pitch

The EuRomArt is a transnational project that fosters connection and cohesion in Europe and can connect people beyond national borders. The theatre performance will be directed at addressing discrimination, stereotypes and encouraging the change of existing attitudes towards Roma communities. Artists from three different countries come together to create the theatre shows based on their understanding and perspective on the culture.

Where will your idea take place?

Why does Europe need your idea?

Blv. "Gjergj Fishta", Nd 70, H1, Tirana, Albania Tel.: +355 4 24 21 806

What is your impact?

The aim of the EuRomArt is to create opportunities for young EU theatre makers to show their work on platforms in the future in those European countries. The project will be of great value for young theatre makers, because it gives them a unique opportunity to engage with European colleagues within supportive environments. EuRomArt promote the cultural heritage of the programme area, as it is able to connect a transnational theme addressing discrimination of Roma Communities.

How do you get there?

EuRomArt intend to create a Forum Theatre performance in AL and KS addressing discrimination of Roma Communities in 8 months project life. The project team will organize workshop/theatre rehearsals in KS and AL preparing 2 Forum theatre shows. Workshop consists in Intercultural dialogue with the audience.
It will initiate a social media campaign that will go parallel with the rehearsals and address the stereotypes of both women and men, on Property rights and will be presented as Premieres, continuing with the debate with the audience gathered on the issues presented in the show.
Palazzo Spinelli will engage two students to participate to the Forum Theatre shows joining the artists of KS and AL focusing in inter-cultural exchanges.
The Lead partner will manage the projectactivities.

What is your story?

Who are you doing it for?

The target group is constituted by : Artists representatives, Roma People, Students in the field of cultural & creative industries, Culture & specialist experts, National Public Body, Universities, Local Public Body, Non-Profit organizations, Senior citizens, Staff from local, regional and national institutions, Youth.

What makes your idea stand apart?

EuRomAct brings together key groups such as activists, administrators, artists and change-makers. The discussions between the public and the people involved will feature a guest (a philosopher, sociologist, historian). The encounters meet the people behind the production and familiarize them with the work in general through discussion in which active people in different spheres can exchange views. Indeed, the cross-thematic approach is integral to both the artistic and educational programmes.
