The European Meeting Point for Youth is a creative space designed for the international youth in an office complex located in Frankfurt am Main. The goal will be workshops concerning three topics, “Artificial Intelligence”, “Education” and “Escape”. Therefore we will use our well-established network of our initiative “My Europe” and the Ministries of Education and Cultural Affairs in the European countries. Collaboration with UNESCO is planned. The focus is on the youth living in the periphery.
Frankfurt am Main
The refugee crisis and the rise of extreme right wing radicalism in many EU countries present a great challenge. Voting abstences have been the highest this year. However, in the future, global warming will lead to a massive influx of climate change refugees who will come to Europe. At the same time, right-wing extremism is rising in most European countries. The education in schools cannot counteract the Anti-European notions, right wing radicalism, and the influx of climate change refugees.
The youth in Europe will have a better exchange among each other, a stronger connection to Europe and will be aware that they have actual power to change circumstances. Further, the workshops will convey specific knowledge on the topics of “Artificial Knowledge”, “Education” and “Escape”. There will be a stronger exchange between the youth and underaged refugees which will lead to a faster integration of the refugees and to a better understanding of the refugees and their background.
Through the “My Europe” initiative, we established a strong network of students, politicians, business people, scientists and journalists from all over Europe that will be used as the basis. The approach will be to contact the Ministries of Education and Cultural Affairs to get in touch with schools and adolescents from the periphery in the different countries. Additionally, we will draft ideas, specific topics and an individual time frame for the workshops. From our strong network in the before mentioned categories, we can choose scientists etc. to hold presentations during the workshops. Finally, we will invite the students over to participate in the workshop at the Meeting Point in Frankfurt. This is where everything will merge.

The main target group will be young people in Europe and underage refugees. Concerning the young people in Europe we are aiming to get in touch with youngsters in the periphery because of the need to include the broader regions of Europe, which need to be strengthened.
In an inclusive approach, we are focusing on the periphery of European countries instead of the capitals. The European Meeting Point for Youth will be a fixed venue for youth to create and foster Europe. Its charme lies in its long-term character.
