Idea pitch

“Fence Corridor” will inform the public about the migrant crises, stereotypes and prejudices, a story told by Europeans living in nine countries, starting with the islands of Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic to the area of Ruhr, Germany.

Where will your idea take place?

From the islands of Greece, then Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, to Ruhr, Germany

Why does Europe need your idea?

We are already providing aid to the migrants and we would like to film real stories about their situation, while implementing the stories of other people from all nine states such as Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic which are passageways through Europe, and how they migrate to the final destination in Germany.

What is your impact?

The successful outcome of “Fence Corridor” is picturing the amount of effort by the Syrians, Iraqis and the Afghans take to migrate to the desired place. Most people are informed about the migrant crisis, but they don’t understand what the migrants are going through. They actually are not aware about the families being torn apart, and how emotional these migrants are, because they have no choice but to leave their homes.

How do you get there?

We will be doing field research, connecting with many different partners from Europe. We will start our from the islands of Greece, making a field travel through Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, and finishing our travel in Germany. We will work closely with the armies, border patrols and the police of each country to make sure that the film crew is safe, and we will have Europeans and stakeholders who support the project. Once we decide which migrants are going to take part of our stories, we will be closely working with them step by step, and we are going to be filming every single important point of their journey. It takes months for them to cross all the borders and get to their final destination.

What is your story?

-

Who are you doing it for?

“Fence Corridor” targets the world with their real life stories and the migrants’ fight for survival. It is an activist film which is going to bridge a lot of connections from partners of many countries within the EU, and will activate more volunteers from different organizations. Then, it will screen at festivals, making an emotional appeal to the audience and hopefully to some politicians who may change their mind about the migrants' current lives and the crisis.

What makes your idea stand apart?

What makes our idea surprising is the facts about the migrants' and the Europeans' stories, because they will be presented to the public as they are. We are ready to take the challenge and film in 9 states, in any type of weather. These are provocative stories, especially the current situation of the border between Greece and Macedonia where the police is stationed 24/7 and having a hard time guarding the border since thousands of new migrants come per day.
