Where will your idea take place?

Aiud, Romania

Why does Europe need your idea?

In the current global environmental crisis and foreseen food crisis, we believe we can make a difference through our food choices. Food production has one of the biggest impact on the quality of our environment, and in order to last longer and look better, it contains ever more chemical additives. The CHALLENGE is how to promote healthy alternatives and how to make sustainable food more accessible and more desired in local communities of Eastern Europe?

What is your impact?

In one year,Europe will benefit of a phisical&virtual Food CHAlleNGE HUB that will bring together experts from various fields: nutrition, permaculture, architecture, environment, sociology, cooking & marketing.Thru a holistic approach they will offer consultancy and coaching to both consumers and producers. Basically, the hub aims at promoting the consumption and sustaining the production of healthy food that doesn’t have a negative impact on environment and supports social equity.

How do you get there?

Step by step:
A transnational mobility in Aiud with the participation of at least one expert representing any single partner. The aim of the mobility is to design the functioning concept of the hub, at phisical and virtual levels
Open call for resource experts at national and international level
Establishing local partnerships with all the interested steakholders in Aiud
Launching the phisical hub and the virtual community
Training volunteers in Aiud for facilitating the educational programmes of the Hub
Field public campaign for making the phisical Hub and the resource experts “desired” by the local community in Aiud
Piloting for 6 months the 3 components of the hub: the consultancy services offered for producers and consumers and the designed educational progamm for 3-100 years old you

What is your story?

Who are you doing it for?

Our endeauvor is addresing both the producers and the consumers from Aiud area. But during the whole life cycle of the project, we will also seek to develope the skills of our international experts regarding a systemic approach of food issues within their local work.
On one hand, we will be raising the awareness of the CONSUMERS towards more sustainable food choices in Aiud. O the other hand, we will coach the local PRODUCERS from Aiud to integrate within their business sustainability practices.

What makes your idea stand apart?

The systemic approach of food: bringing together people from various fields(nutritionist, branding and communication, permacultere, architect, environment, sociology, coach) and challenge them to work together for the sake of healthy food habits, healthy environment and solidar communities.
Revitalizing the food sector and social life in a small town from Eastern Europe
