The forefront of evolution
Goal of the project is to engage Europeans into multicultural and cross-national collaboration to solve local urban challenges together. It will be realised through connecting young professionals and local initiators by mean of a digital platform that will be developed during the execution of the project. Later, 8 towns will be selected for hosting the Impact Buzz event - workshops on ideation, facilitation and fundraising for locals and volunteers from other cities.
8 European cities
Despite that physical and legal boarders inside Europe are blurring with every year, cultural and national barriers still divide Europeans. Very tiny part of citizens are actively involved in solving issues in neighbor countries. Moreover, a lot of painful issues on the country level are almost being ignored due to cultural disunity.
Our goal is to engage Europeans into multicultural and cross-national collaboration to solve local urban challenges together. We want to make it cool and easy for a young designer from Berlin to come to small town in Romania for a weekend to invest her energy in reshaping an old warehouse into a community center. Or to help group of elders in Provence to attract an engineer from Rotterdam to renovate their vineyards’ arrogating system. We want to help Europeans to see humans behind nations.
Key tasks are to spark local initiatives and facilitate collaboration between change-makers around Europe and local initiators. The key steps 1). platform prototype - users can add their issues, e.g. ‘reconstruct a warehouse’ and opportunity profiles: ‘I can make a design project’ 2) Impact Buzz PR-tour: a bus with changemaking ambassadors visiting 8 towns with workshops on ideation, facilitation and fundraising to activate locals 3) fundraising to build a sustainable platform and promote it around Europe.
Our target group is young professionals willing to contribute to solve social challenges. Second target group is locals who want a change in their neighbourhood, but they lack ideas, resources or skills. Third one is elder people who possess valuable experience but don’t feel engaged enough in community life to share those.
On the other hand we’re looking to partner with regional NGOs and change making institutions to aggregate a demand for their activity.
Serving as a self-sustainable ‘impact marketplace’ backed by ambassadorship promotion our solution takes best from the crowd-framework and established volunteering tradition.
However, unlike long-term volunteering programs we’re targeting a larger audience enabling a broader choice and quicker impact. On the other hand, we’re more flexible than pure crowd-sourcing/funding platforms, since we give more options of collaborations between users. in fact we’re open to partner with crowd services.
