The interdependence of different fields of social, political and cultural sphere is becoming more and more visible. However, the educational system produce professionals with very different fields of knowledge, which limit them in creatíve participation in social empowerment. This project is an experiment with professionals and citizens to connect each other and participate in the discourse and co-working to create accessible socially engaged cultural projects.
This project is an experience to build a very heterogenic creative collective to work together on socially engaged public art and media projects with the highest accessibility to society. In the one hand, the challenge is how these professionals can connect to each other in a systematic construction and configure a method of discourse and co-working. In the other hand, keeping the accessibility and the publicity of these outputs are the other most challenging parts of the project.
The final aim of these ’creative products’ is to generate and conceive a discourse in society on social problems, taboos and misinterpretations. In our opinion, new media used by talented creatives with the knowledge of social scientists and the experience of social workers and activists can create a new perspective in common talk. By carrying these projects out to the public spaces and “pack” the messages in a playful and creative form, the project will be effective socially and politically.
The base of the working process is the theoretical work and the regular open lectures by invited presentors from different fields. If somebody would like to participate in the creative process too, he or she can join a Platform which is based on workshops with systematic personal meetings where the participants will have the right to make decisions on the tools they would like to use in their platforms (workshop, research, field work). The community-building aspect of the project is very important too, because this is the guarantee for the long-term progression and the future cooperations. Also, virtual platforms will be created in purpose of facilitating the communication and the sharing of ideas and knowledge.
This project invites all citizens, members of associations and NGOs (social, cultural, artistic), freelance artists, curators and academics. But the main purpose is to reach the citizens, and to initiate the common talk on the most problematic topics. Our aim is to provoke and play with the stereotypes, facilitate the participation in the political discourse, spread the basic knowledge about dynamics of society with special emphasis on those groups who suffering from the lack of these informatio
The speciality of the platform experiment is the intention of indirect political effect with the creativity and the combined power of scientific knowledge, political and social experiences of social workers and activists, and the very conscious and responsible use of the media. Keeping up the openness of the project, the community building through the collective work is an opportunity to create connections between people with different socio-economic status.
