Idea pitch

The nutshell of the project is development the interactive courses on biology and IT literacy and establishing them on the iLearn platform with the focus on special type of university entrants – orphans. The main aim of our project is to give the orphans the opportunity to prepare to the entry to higher education institutions on the equal basis with other school leavers.

Where will your idea take place?

Why does Europe need your idea?

The orphanages in Ukraine have very low level of schools education. Due to this fact the iLearn was created. iLearn is a platform that already helps children from orphanages to prepare for testing, and receive a passing score for admission to universities in the budget form of education.Among the challenges that we faced - low IT literacy among students in orphanages and the lack of open free online course in biology.

What is your impact?

We want to develop the online interactive courses on IT literacy and biology on the basis of our web platform ( and to upgrade existing courses on mathematics, Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature, history of Ukraine that will be open for any pupil. When the project will be finished every pupil will have similar chances to learn and successfully complete external independent exams.

How do you get there?

In a partnership with Bionic University ( we aim to develop progressive on-line platform to create usable and effective educational courses. Implementing the best experience of on-line education projects we will engage students in preparation to the exams by communicating and inspiring those, who have lost faith in opportunities, and help them to live up to their potential. We will engage students in learning and train them to work on-line. Engagement requires live communication with the students, who live in orphanages and camps for the internally displaced people. Our organization works on the permanent basis with students who's access to education is difficult, providing trainings within other projects of non-profit public association "Osvitoria"

What is your story?

Who are you doing it for?

This project is first of all for talented children that do not have access to quality school education. We will focus our attention at orphans and those pupils that are studying in boarding schools. However, the online platform is open for any pupil, who is finishing school and is willing to enter university. Results of the project will be open for any region and will be provided free of charge.

What makes your idea stand apart?

We believe that coherent Europe is only possible if same values and ideals are shared through cultural and educational activities. Ukraine's young generation is the vulnerable part of the society that might suffer the most from the current military conflict, internal replacement process and economical crisis in our country. For that reason we need to do our best not only to mitigate the effect of aforementioned events but also to provide the youngest with effective instruments to integrate.
