With cross-border networking and empowerment (storytelling, workshop, educational activities on social innovation) of those who are able to take action (ie Village commons, civil society groups). There are already existing structures as are village commons/common pool institutions which own land (declared Natura 2000 sites) and can potentially give a major contribution to prevent biodiversity and with this also embark on new venues of social innovation. Empowerment and capacity building should come from within the communities to break away from political elites who are taking unsustainable decisions benefiting only a few. With a learning-based approach we aim to network for knowledge transfer within rural actors and keep spreading examples of good practices for community regeneration.
