We are going to establish communication between the refugee and native groups of children at the age of 8-12 years in the cities most affected by the refugee crisis, hereby, Germany.
The experience of resettlemet can be quite traumatic, espessially for children whose future is dependednt on the surrounding events and environment they live in. Therefore,our project is going to address the complications the refugee children went through on their way to safe European life changing the perception of the negative experience through transforming it into a fascinating story not only for the children themselves but for their European equals in age as well.
The project aims at enhancing the tolerance to the young refugee generation and their inclusiveness in German cultural and social processes alongside eliminating the stressful consequences of their migration. After the project execution its outcomes and methodology will be implemented to assist the refugee children from the Eastern parts of Ukraine find their place in the other regions of the country overcoming the national, cultural, and ideological borders.
Trough the series of workshops we are planning to introduce to the refugee children the art of creating comics and illustrations. After attending the workshops, the children participating in the project will be asked to create several illustrations dedicated to their memories of home, the concept of home, their way to Europe, and the impression of the place they currently live in.
The target group of the project comprises of the refugee children who witnessed all the grim realities of war and life in exile, and currently are at the age of 8-12 years, in the cities most affected by the refugee crisis, hereby, Ruhr area of Germany. Moreover, it will reach european children as well, providing them with an opportunity to reconsider their perception of the refugees.
Our project provides possibility of creative expression of traumatic experience of refugee children. Our practice is combination of storytelling, art and social work.During our workshops we are creating a ZIN - сomics about the journey of the child from one country to another which transform stressful experiences in the exciting adventures.
