Many students initiatives in Europe focus on sustainable development in order to build a livable future but many experience struggles. We want to face these challenges and combine activities, so that everybody benefits as much as possible from already available resources. By coaching multipliers, we will disseminate the best practices of various organisations all over the EU. In this way, sustainability becomes the key factor in higher education that it should be.
Climate change, banking crisis, refugees... there are a lot of long term, international challenges in respect of ecology, economy and society. Unfortunately, the so called solutions are quite often pretty myopic or abstract.
At the same time, there are students taking action for a livable, sustainable future. Most of the times, their initiatives lack a wider network in order to increase their impact. Also, continuity of knowledge is not always given, due to structural impediments.
We want universities throughout Europe to be the driving force behind a transition towards a sustainable development on all levels. They educate millions of students, who will hold responsible positions in the future. We are aiming for universities to implement sustainability in their organisation, research, curriculum and to be fundamentally democratic institutions. In this way, they will educate active, responsible citizens, set a good example and clear the way for necessary change in society.
We help European students to increase their impact by creating synergies between initiatives and by empowering local groups. There is an abundance of good practices all over Europe, which - if shared - will help to strengthen sustainability initiatives. Therefore, we and our partners will identify the needs and share the best practices. Together, we will coach disseminators in a series of international seminars to become sustainability coaches. In between seminars, they will - with our continuous support - coach initiatives in their home country. This peer to peer coaching will help adress internal and external challenges of student initiatives. Working on the same goal, the students will be empowered to create the change they want to see - and help others do the same.
Our aim is to make a positive change in society through people who are willing and capable of taking responsibility for the present and future. This means, we are doing it for present generations inside and outside of Europe as well as for future generations around the world. Our immediate target group are students, who are willing to become an active part in society and are looking for orientation on how to do it (even better and more effectively).
We will widen and empower the arising students movement for sustainable development.
Our coaches disseminate content as well as methods. They promote sustainability and help groups to professionalise. The coaching structure itself creates a snowball effect and guarantees a broad impact. Additionally, we provide a functioning, quadrilingual project management platform for sustainable initiatives, which subsequently can avoid a lot of technological issues and focus on their activism.
Our major expenses will be personnel costs, travel and accommodation costs and also the translation of our project management platform (e.g. into French).
If any other sustainable initiative who would like to collaborate with us, don't hesitate to contact us: info@netzwerk-n.org
