Teatrul de Stat Constanta
We will culturally connect 4 European cities with a multicultural background to change society perspective on culture, including audience and the so called non‐audience, fostering inclusion and socialization, educating children and adults to literature, theatre, to urban spaces as occasions of personal and social growth, while fighting disparities, intolerance, indifference. We will give inputs to cultural sector, that is able to bring democracy, care, sharing and collaboration practices.

In Europe, there’s a strong need of inclusion, democracy and citizens empowerment. The big flow of migrants, economic crisis, hard access to culture are some of the reasons why intolerance and fears are growing and lots of citizens experiment a great individual and social loneliness. We suggest a real cultural European city model, able to foster inclusion and progress of all citizens, no matter their social or economical conditions, no matter their provenience.
Project activities involve old and new European citizens, at local and international level, concretely participating to all cultural events. Main aims: tear down cultural walls between European countries and between these countries and migrant people, fostering inclusion and socialization, educating children and adults to literature, theatre, to urban spaces as occasions of personal and social growth, while fighting disparities, intolerance, indifference.
In all cities we will: install little screens at bus stops with multilingual readings of famous masterpieces; substitute little plastic toys sold in vending machines, with poetries, tales, legends; organize several book crossing points; spread international literary quotations through street art works. Main districts as well as pubs, restaurants, markets will become theatre of international performances, readings, poetry slams inspired by history and/or traditional legends of Europe and of all countries of origin of migrant citizens. In each city there will be a Café Europa: a connection hub of partner countries in which citizens can sit and eat together while getting involved in other countries’ events and talks, through wi fi technology, screens and apps.
Given the variety of actions, beneficiaries of the project are varied as well: citizens of all ages and backgrounds, involved in all activities as audience or participants, migrants and refugees, artists coming from all partner countries (involved in theatre workshops, performances and multimedia installation); social enterprises and initiatives, social and youth workers, schools.
Our strength is in our network experience in working since years both on a local level (in schools, with different public and private institutions, organizing several different activities fostering inclusion ad civic participation) and on an international level, connecting with European and extra European countries and networks, mixing different artistic tools in different educational and social contexts.
