Idea pitch

A platform for the migrants to upload diaries, blogs of daily life& messages for loved ones. Also for Europeans from across Europe to watch and also upload there thoughts and messages.The project aims to tackle social exclusion issues as well as support migrants’ network in a modern and effective fashion. This will be a public page to post mini documentaries, direct messages etc. To kick start we will be going to directly to Calais jungle working with care4calais.

Why does Europe need your idea?

Maintaining social inclusion in the toughest situations. This will start with integration, perspective and providing creative solutions to networks even with obvious restraints. We are also channeling the digital energy of love, sharing and support.

What is your impact?

An accurate effective communication network across Europe. The channel is to provide comfort, knowledge and inclusion to those interested in the current situation in Calias Jungle. To have an influence and impact in European lives by bridging gaps in communication, information and connections. The aim is that a year after we have finished the project, others are still participating by providing fresh content and messages, overall lessen the effect of social exclusions for migrants.

How do you get there?

We will be going over to Calais jungle with a group of volunteers (experienced camera crew and journalist) for a short period (3-5 days), every month for the period of 8 months. While in the jungle we will be documenting Migrants lives, interviewing and recording messages from migrants. We have a delivery model inclusive of edited, planned visits, promotion and execution of the channel.
While back in the UK we will be intensively promoting the launch of the channel (social media, events, outreach). We have a strategy for subscribers,Followers and reaching out to loved ones.

Who are you doing it for?

For Europe, although migrants and their estranged families may seem like the only beneficiary of this projects. This project if for Europeans to have a dedicated channel to upload and also gather insight into some of the goings on in which is fair and a true reflection on certain realities for those in Calais "jungle" to enable and empower people with knowledge and understanding thus in turn creating cohesion and inclusion.

What makes your idea stand apart?

We believe our idea is unique because of the style in which it will be delivered. There is not currently an interactive blog with messages for loved ones also that we intend to create a channel that all across Europe and the world can access and have a real feel of current issues that the migrants are facing in Calais and comment and respond in the most creative ways whilst also creating a platform for journalists and film makers to also get involved.
