Idea Sketch | Proposal

Idea pitch

ILI wants to strengthen the European spirit, which is crucial for the cohesion in Europe, which is very important especially nowadays in times of big global changes. This project wants to stress the shared European identity and the common bond, which connects all European countries and its inhabitants. Within the project one aim is to show the diversity and cultural richness of Europe and also to describe life in different European countries and to point out the good effects of a united Europe.

Where will your idea take place?

in one town of every partner country

Why does Europe need your idea?

The attitude is very important for decisions and actions. That's why it is of major importance to be aware which attitude leads to which effect. Sometimes there are predictions made of different kind of experts that in some years there will be the end of the European Union and they tell why they think so. Thus it is time to act and start where it all begins: with the attitude and the emotion when hearing the word "Europe".

What is your impact?

The creation of a European spirit in all parts of Europe should be achieved. Especially children and young people should be reached. Everyone should be aware of what it means to live in Europe and to be an inhabitant of a united Europe. The advantages and good effects should be present in the heads of Europeans without having to think long time about it. It is one aim to show the worth of a united Europe to everyone.

How do you get there?

ILI would provide a website, where every European country would be represented by its flag. The ILI-film team would travel to several partners within Europe and make video-clips of 10-20 min. about one representative of his/her country including an interview about living in that country, about a curious and short tradition, about food (in a living room/kitchen) and one concluding statement about why he/she is happy to belong to Europe. The language would be the one of that country (with English subtitles). The other flags could be completed by interested people from that country. The website would include an invitation to do so (with support by ILI). In addition an YouTube-channel would be created to increase the reach of people in the whole world.

What is your story?

Who are you doing it for?

For Europe and all its inhabitants and especially for children and young people - that is the future of Europe. All people should become more aware of the good effects of a united Europe. They should remember and learn new aspects why to appreciate a united Europe and what would mean a disrespect and a lack of appreciation of Europe.

What makes your idea stand apart?

This project wants to foster and strengthen the connection and cohesion in Europe. The results could be used at school in different subjects and could be of interest for young people who wants to spend a time abroad, so they could get an idea; the emotion and feeling to be happy to live in an united Europe with all its diversity should be touched.
