Fair Saturday takes place every last Saturday of November, the day after Black Friday. On that day thousands of artists and organizations develop cultural activities, dedicating a portion of the value generated to a social project of their choice. And causing a deep social reflection on the essential role that art and culture has in creating a better future.
After half a century of prosperity in Europe today new challenges related to sustainable economic development and an increasingly necessary cultural integration in the XXI century emerge
One of the main keys to the future development of Europe is culture. The movement "Fair Saturday, a day to change the world through art and culture" aims to raise awareness of European society of its essential role in our common future.
A successful outcome this year would be to put together 500 events in more than 100 cities in Spain.
If selected a year from now we could unite more and more people around art and culture and make a greater role of culture generating more virtuous, fair and sensitive societies to the needs of others, able to build a more sustainable and humane future.
In order to implement the idea, we define our annual strategy and long term strategy. Based on the analysis of the previous year, we set our quantitative and qualitative objectives, define the different strategic areas to work through, set a specific action plan for each one of them and define the team in charge of each area.
Every major decision is discussed by the team in order to get the best solution. We work with a “company state of mind” even though we are a Non-profit organisation. However, instead of making profit for our shareholders we focus on creating value for society, in our case, through art and culture.
Our target group and beneficiaries are artists (from every artistic discipline), cultural associations and entities, cultural venues, social projects and people in general experiencing Fair Saturday day.
The stakeholders include sponsors, media partners, governmental entities, promoters, affiliates, collaborators and volunteers.
Our audience are citizens interested in art and culture who may also believe in making a positive impact in society.
There is nothing like this movement in the world. There are other movements around the globe aiming to change the world, like Giving Tuesday, consumption driven ones like Black Friday, international music festivals... but there is nothing related to art and culture with a positive social impact as big as those.
Additionally, Fair Saturday is a participative and collaborative movement arising from the citizens themselves. It is the active participation of artists and citizens what makes it real.

We would love to learn new ways of implementing our idea in other countries. We would like to connect with people who believe that art and culture can change the world and who could help us spread the word and making Fair Saturday bigger. Moreover, any feedback and regarding how we are implementing our project, how we are communicating it, how useful or not our channels are… would be more than welcome.
