Youth Association for a Greater Europe
Greater Europe bikes is a brand new project that aims to unite youth from EU and CIS countries by providing them with the platform and means to visit each other by bike. Our young team of motivated students and young professionals with a passion for Europe, CIS and intercultural dialogue will set out a cycle route starting in Saint-Petersburg and finishing in Paris, on the way crossing 9 countries, enabling numerous cultures to meet, overcome stereotypes and tell others about their experiences.
Saint Petersburg, Russia - Paris, France
The challenge we are addressing is the lack of quality communication and understanding between young people form the EU an post-soviet countries.
We are aiming to unite young people from the EU and Post-Soviet countries around the shared passion - biking and traveling. Through engaging in this kind of special communication our goal is to raise awareness of current issues between our countries and make us a little closer to each other.
We plan to get there by organising this relay biking tour, where young people can communicate while taking part in the trip and then share their experience with their communities.
We are doing it for young people just like us, who are spending their summer in Europe, share the same passion for bikes and traveling as we do and would like to engage in this kind of trip to share the values of Greater Europe. And, of course, for fun!
The idea is different, because this project unites sport with travel, and at the same time with uniting Western and Eastern Europe. We are different, because we believe we can make a change with 2 bikes and passionate participants, who will not only bike, but share their values with the world through social networks and a video what it's like to be a part of such a European project.
