We want to organize an international workcamp. The aim is to unite people with various nationalities and backgrounds while positively changing an important place for Vinnytsia - Kotsubynsky Museum-Garden. During this workcamp, we will transform the garden of Kotsyubynsky`s museum into a creative urban space. We will make beautiful and comfortable furniture from pallets and other materials. It will be a perfect space for the local community to organize cultural events or simply spend free time.
Ukraine is not a very popular tourist destination and remains relatively unknown to Europeans. This project will address this challenge to knowledge about Ukraine, especially in light of the conflict in the east of the country. The challenge will be also for the participants to work and to live together as they represent different countries, traditions, habits and have different background.
We want to show the participants of the workcamp and the local community that we can live and work together, even if we have different culture, religion etc, but when we are united by common goal. Another aim is to prove the local community that people can make positive changes in the place they are living by themselves. Also it is important for us to have opportunity to invite foreigners to Ukraine, to make them brake stereotypes, discover our country and culture.
The first step will be to get participants acquainted with each other and keep friendly atmosphere using energizers to make people feel as a team during the workcamp.
The idea that the participants will be living together under one roof, cooking, doing household chores will contribute much to uniting people.
But the main “union”-activity will be connected with work: making beautiful and comfortable furniture from pallets and other materials. The work groups will be changed each time so that participants will try themselves in different environments.
All the rest-activities will be aimed in getting them into teams (games, quests etc) as well.
What is more, the Intercultural Dinner will connect people too by presenting the countries and showing their traditions.
The target group of this project is youth from Europe and Ukraine. The young people will be the main participants of this project. The beneficiaries also will include the local community and the museum, where the project will take place.
Our project will involve young people from different European countries. The first event ( International Dinner) will be organized in the end of the workcamp to provide interaction between participants and locals. The results of our work will be tangible, as we will have a visible result and real impact on the local community in the end of the project. It will be not valid for one occasion only, but can be easily used for further festivals, events or gatherings of the local community.
