Idea pitch

Georgians declared intention to become part of the European community, but because of fact that Georgia - one of the past Soviet republics in many areas of public life, still felt influence of the Soviet Union, unfortunately our museum also keep old conservative management. The project aim is by help of our partners to turn our museum into modern cultural centre, and this will make a big contribution for development not only for our museum but also for other museums of Georgia

Why does Europe need your idea?

It is not secret that the museums have not sufficient financing from the government, thus, for more effective work, it became necessary to earn additional resources by own efforts, but for achievement of desirable result it is necessary to change work in all structures of the museum. However, unfortunately, because of insufficient knowledge and experience, despite of our big efforts we cannot achieve desirable results.

What is your impact?

Main aim of this project is to turn our museum into the modern cultural center. By help of our partners we will learn more about modern methods of museum management, fund rising, exhibition design, exhibits conservation etc. It will be a great contribution for us.

How do you get there?

Cooperation - our main weapon, quite so, we guarantee updates. At the first stage of our project, we plan to accept delegation of our partners from the Museum of the Polish Jews for the studying of work and problems existing in our museum. The second stage - the diversified delegation of our museum, will arrive to the museum of our partner's to learn more about modern methods of management, fund rising, design of an exhibition, exhibits conservation and preservation and, etc. In addition, the final stage of the project is the second visit of our colleagues from the Museum of Polish Jews, to look and estimate results of the project.

The reforms planned by us, will help to revive interest of society in the museum therefore, target audience of our project are representatives of various age and social groups of society.

What makes your idea stand apart?

The help of our partners, more than 200 000 exhibits that are stored in various funds and the high scientific potential and huge desire of our employees to turn our museum into the modern cultural center gives us confidence, in success of our project.
