INTEGRATION starts by finding an OWN HOME! So far, this happens through 1:1 mediation with a social worker. This approach is not scalable; refugees & landlords are WAITING FOR MONTHS for mediation.
We are developing a MATCHING PLATFORM where refugees can CONTACT landlords THEMSELVES. The open & anonymized data base will also help exiting housing initiatives for refugees to work more effectively together.
We have tested our prototype. Now we want to go live.
INTEGRATION starts with having an own apartment. It’s critical to move out of refugee camps at the soonest & start living a normal life.
The search of an apartment is tedious. Often refugees have to wait for social workers who find them an apartment. This TAKES MONTHS although many landlords want to host refugees! The social workers are overwhelmed with inquiries.
A scalable model that EMPOWERS refugees to find an apartment on their own is required.
We want to empower all refugees to find fast a new home.
Therefore, we will expand our platform at the soonest to other European countries. Our platform will not only empower refugees to find an apartment; it will also serve existing housing initiatives as underlying data pool for their mediation. Thus, the initiatives do not need to collect and analyse data any more. By using the same data base all initiatives can collaborate more effectively and have a greater social impact together.
We have developed & tested a prototype together with refugees. Now we are developing our beta-version for Germany. We want to go live next month.
Besides programming the technical part of the platform, we have also prepared supportive information e.g. guidelines for getting the rental costs paid by the government.
After being online, we will contact housing associations for apartments. We will also collaborate with existing housing initiatives for refugees. Our plan is that refugees who need individual advice can contact our local partners. For informing refugees about our platform we will work together with operators of refugee camps.
By using different multipliers for addressing each target group (refugee, initiatives, landlords) we expect to create fast a measurable social impact.
We do it for the REFUGEES who want to find a new home. We do it for LANDLORDS who want to help but are not able to, because social workers are overwhelmed by inquiries and cannot attend to them. We do it for the SOCIAL WORKERS & INITIATIVES that do not have a central data base of refugees and landlords who are open to host refugees. We will foster collaboration between initiatives.
Additionally the GOVERNMENT saves a lot of costs for the very expensive accommodation in refugee camps.
Our model is SCALABLE; it can serve many more refugees and can be implemented in all Europe with less effort.
So far all solutions are working on a 1:1 mediation basis with social workers. This is inefficient and time-consuming. Most refugees & landlords who want to help cannot be matched.
By having our OPEN & ANONYMIZED DATA BASE also existing housing initiatives can easily and effectively COLLABORATE by sharing their network and drawing on a large data pool of vacant apartments.

Our major expenses will be the continuous technological maintenance of the platform, as well as continuous development the platform to fit the needs of the users. For the technical part we would like to employ two of our refugee team members full time who have previously studied software engineering in Damascus.
If you are an initiative that helps refugees to find apartments, talk to us, we like collaboration.
