Committee of the Future. Female Solidarity
Melitopol is the first Ukrainian city that in 2008 joined the Council of Europe and that embodies intercultural strategy among more than hundred ethnic groups.
The idea of the project includes creating an installation “Intercultural Tree” in a public garden "Friendship of Nations" which is located on Brive-la-Gaillarde Street; construction of a European alley, decorated with the flags of European countries, along with the construction of a permanent open venue for performances and presentations
1.Supporting tolerance in an ethnocultural environment of Melitopol, taking into account the increasing social tension in the whole country.
2.Lack of public awareness about the benefits of European integration.
3.Increasing cultural empathy in intercultural interaction.
4.Lack of a symbol of unity among residents of Melitopol considering overall social indifference caused by military actions in Ukraine.

Melitopol is a multicultural city. The occupation of some territories of Ukraine caused rise of the phenomenon of internal migration. Another important feature of demographic aspect of Melitopol is that it is particularly youth and student city. Major percentage of students in Melitopol are representatives of many different nationalities. Our project aims to improve the cohesion in above-mentioned categories of people through art, open dialogue and intercultural festivals.
1. Round table dialogue with the assistance of specialists aimed to design the layout for construstions. The discussion will involve representatives of national and cultural communities of the city, community activists and government officials.
2. Media campaign. Information about the project will be spread among residents throughout the whole project period.
3. Engaging experts for manufacturing and installing the frame of the venue (open air stage).
4. Writing the script for the grand opening celebration.
5. Setting up the stage and the installation.
6. Grand opening. Intercultural Festival.
This project is beneficial not only for the residents of our city or region, but for everyone in the country, because with a successful launch of its plan it is to attract the attention of the representatives of various ethnic groups from all over Ukraine and from different countries in Europe in the future.
The idea of raising the level of cultural interaction by expanding inter cultural space of Melitopol within proclaimed Ukraine's course towards European integration aims to unite students, IDPs, representatives of national and cultural communities, local authorities and civil society activists.
