Idea pitch

The main idea of the project is to create an online platform, where people, who have unused goods (wearing, toys, etc.) can publish the list of these products and about their willingness to get rid of them and invite orphanages, charity organisations and volunteers to get these goods and provide them to people in need. The platform will also give a possibility to poor people and people in need to announce about their needs for a special type of good and provide details about their living place.

Why does Europe need your idea?

Economic crisis, wars and political instability in several countries increased social polarization and formed a vast army of poor people and refugees, which live under the poverty line officially established in respective countries. These people sometimes need essential supplies, which they are not able to purchase. At the same time, people living above the poverty level have goods which they never use and keep in attics and then, after several years, throw away.

What is your impact?

The aim of the project is to improve the attitude of poor’s and refugees towards life by making happy moments for them and their families. It is not just a charity. The project itself will increase societal responsibility,the willingness of people to help and love each other and by making joy for others, be happy themselves. It is a drop in a sea, but it can serve as an online charity platform all over the world by providing targeted support, where people know whom to provide their unused goods.

How do you get there?

The project will evolve along two main pillars. 1) analysis and development of the list of possible goods, which people don’t use after a timeframe. It will include also analysis of the existing needs of the poor. This list will then be used for the development of the portal. 2) development of a relevant portal. The portal will be designed with a visitor perspective in mind. It will give a possibility to log in and register the suggested/requested good. The portal will be tested in Armenia, but it will be designed with the possibility to be used all over the world. So, each citizen of the respective country will be able to register and publish the suggestion. Social networks, radio, brochures and leaflets will be used as promotion for the portal and involvement of interested organisations.

Who are you doing it for?

The target group of the project are people living under the poverty level and refugees. Stakeholders of the project are charity organisations, international donor organisations, non-governmental organizations, businesses, mass media and people intending to support others and make changes in their lives.

What makes your idea stand apart?

The project also has humanitarian meaning – kindness, love, volunteering. What’s special about the project is how people will be encouraged seeing the heart-warming smile of the poor, or feeling the sparkles of the joy of helping others in their heart of hearts. The fever of making a difference and doing acts of kindness will be contagious and will spread through the people. The people in need will never be ashamed again, the reach – never considered greedy.
