Change is about raising awareness about yourself and your surroundings. Technology changes society, but it is neutral. The question is how do we want to use it? Change is always a decision. A choice of who we want to be.
We believe that creativity is magic, and that magic can be a force for positive social change. The World needs people who believe that magic is real and who know that our imagination has the power to transform our lives, communities and organisations!
There are some unknowns that we need to clearify and for that we plan a 1 day prototype event with 25 change makers and companies to see if we can answer some practical questions such as food, material and accomomodation. We also need to get feedback from our participants on content and valuable take aways. This prototyp will be a low budget event and from the learnings taken from this we can scale up.
For the 3 day event we aim to reach for approx 600 active participants and 2000 visitors. We want innovation and change to happen during the days and we are going to create tools to measure the success. The changes will have happened in peoples and organiations mindsets in how we interact, communicate and are a part of change. The festival will become a tradition and an important happening for the southern region of Sweden. It will attract more people and scale up organically.
We are a project group of 4 with a projectleader that works with strategy, goals, milestones and meetings on a daily basis. We have passed phase 1&2 which was purpose, goals, definition, creating a manifesto to lean against and we are now entering phase 3 which is preparing to run a one day prototype event in april that will give us a lot of insights and create clarity around the concept. 25 participants will meet for a day and explore what will happen at the big event in september but condensed. With these learnings and more concrete financial backing we will enter phase 4 which is the actual details and execution of a full scale festival. In this phase we will build an online platform for registration and sharing, we will arrange and finalize all applications and permits.
We are aiming to mix change makers, innovators and artists with bigger co operations and students to facilitate change. The event is open to the public and we are hoping to attract a diverse & curious audience.
On change island there is no right or wrong-there is no judgement and its not an innovation summit because we are not designing and organising everything. We’re not telling people what to do. We’re inviting them to do it with us.
The festivals uniqueness also lies in it’s location (the island of stumholmen), challenging it’s participants and audience to interact and exchange in new ways.
