Idea pitch

"Hi, my name is MIMO and will save our Planet for tomorrow." "Puppets for the Future" is a complex school and pre-school environmental education program for young children and kindergarten teachers. We introduce the importance of sustainability and spread green ideas at an age when behavior is flexible and the mind receptive. Over the past few years our puppet characters Mimo and Chips are willimg to meet YOU and all children across Europe.

Where will your idea take place?

Hungary

Why does Europe need your idea?

Our aim is to help saving our Planet for tomorrow. "Puppets for the Future" is a complex school and pre-school environmental education program for young children and kindergarten teachers. We introduce the importance of sustainability and spread green ideas at an age when behavior is flexible and the mind receptive. Over the past few years our puppet characters Mimo and Chips have become well known all around Hungary and our message has reached almost 5 million people. Visit our website for more

What is your impact?

To raise environmental consciousness we are building upon our complex environmental education program: “Puppets for the For the Future – Greening your home!”. Our strength is the ability to translate complex problems into solutions on the children's level – using puppet characters as interpretors. Creating short puppet-films to digitalize the puppet theatre and translating our materials and homepage into English enables the programme to have an international impact.

How do you get there?

As child development is undervalued, our program’s target is to keep an eye on young children to help them in getting healthy habits, strengthening eco-friendly behavior and social and emotional learning. Our approach is using their language: play and fun. For this objective our intervention focuses on Communities, Learn by Playing, Products and Services improving environmental consciousness, spreading knowledge of individual responsibility. Next steps to reach all these:
1. Translate Mimo and Chips story into English (including international homepage www.mimoandchips.com)
2. Design Spots and Smartphone application based on the puppet caracters

What is your story?

-

Who are you doing it for?

Primary Target Age Group: 3–5, 6–12 children and families

Our primary target group is children and their families. By sharing the quick films worldwide
we can give creative tools to parents and professionals, and also the possibility
of focusing on local environmental challenges around the Europe.

Goals: reach 5000 families

What makes your idea stand apart?

The story of Mimo and Chips comes alive in the
form of books, puppet shows, table games,
interactive events and various development materials. Translating the materials and creating quick films will increasing the network of green NGOs :Mimo Buddies which use our "learn-by-play" materials in environmental education.
The easily interpretable graphic should help us passing our message regardless of the age, the gender, the origins, the language and the localization of the target children.
