Idea pitch

It is the corners of EU where you can find the most versatile groups of people. These ,nowaday, sensitive groups, for generations have nurtured social cohesion and moral education with non or little monetary compensation. To support them,MEMLA utilises their heritage and green ethos and trains them to produce Green infrastructure products such as wildflower seed products for green roofs, natural construction and paving materials,and others, all locally sourced and distributed all around EU.

Why does Europe need your idea?

We need to raise public awareness on environmental issues and ways on being productive based on regional resources. Drama city provides a wealth of natural resources easily accessible to the people, which currently remains unexploited. At the same time unemployment rates rises, and traditional ways of earning are eliminated. But it is evident that where citizens team up, they succeed on producing quality products. This dynamic must be channeled properly

What is your impact?

We want to introduce the idea of sustainable use of regional natural resources to small groups and communities, that up to this day have never considered them "profitable". If we succeed there will be a change of perception of how they see nature, human interaction, and the need to protect it even further.

How do you get there?

Once securing funding we will contact certain corporations of the region (e.g. women's agricultural cooperatives) to team up and provide surgery training sessions on creating innovative products "straight from their backyard". Our first operation will be "Wild flower seed products". We will identify all the available wildflower stock of each region, and will initiate a schedule of sustainable collection, processing and packaging of the product. With the NGO's help we will reach out to possible costumers around Europe while promoting these products for Urban Green projects nationwide.

What is your story?


Who are you doing it for?

People living in remote rural locations, unemployed, unprivileged groups, retirees, refugees (wherever applicable). Especially in the case of refugees that are trying to establish residence, we provide a mean to sustain themselves by not competing with current neighborhood unprivileged social groups, avoiding unnecessary social conflict.

What makes your idea stand apart?

This idea is tailor made for small cities with abundance in natural resources that are left untreated. We involve sensitive groups and support their productiveness. We create precedent on a more sustainable environmental ethos that lack nationally in Greece (and other south European countries). We promote Landscape Works. We bring people from different groups closer.

Providing tools and incentives for group members to train on the creation of Landscape products: 22000 Euros Operational costs: 13000 Euros Travel costs: 4000 Euros Overhead costs (mostly taxes) : approx. 11000 euros

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

Our major "fear" is for other European members to get the idea, that there are no entrepreneurism with social incentives in Greece. We may not be the most trained or expertise (since we lack resources and support from within) but we will never stop trying, until the day we will be obligated to become immigrants to other more developed European countries.Until that day comes, we invite anyone to give us feedback or help on this or other initiatives we plan in the future. The more the merrier
