Art’s greatest quality lies in its ability to present a unique/new angle into day to day struggles, oppression and injustices. Therefore we believe that if we could support art works that concern issues of equality then we could not only help in promoting it but we’ll succeed in creating an environment in which equality is the norm/mainstream. If we can present art that discusses feminist issues at many public spheres, then we could support the empowerment of women and men both.
Awareness has to be raised regarding violence against women, the so-called "rape culture", and the general idea of women being of lesser value than men.
We need to create safe spaces for people who want to create art for equality - female and male. The expression of feelings through art is a basic necessity and should be clearly presented as THE option to stop violence.
ArtEquality is of both a charity and an activist movement for equality and feminism. Our mission is to offer support to artists (audio, visual, drama, performance) whose work concerns gender equality/feminism. By presenting oppression we can raise awareness to this injustice and by that we hope to influence a movement for a better world, a movement to liberate women and men alike.
If we can present art that discusses feminist issues at many public spheres, then we could support the empowerment of women and men both.
To us, feminism means equality between women and men, and we’re not there yet.
We strongly believe in education and improvement of social skills through art and artistic involvement in general. If equal and feminist art is openly visual at museums, galleries and streets, present in concerts and performances, thematised in theaters and movies, the potential of the presently neglected people/ women can be fostered and developed.
This project in for everyone. Women and men, boys and girls. We'd like to propose a utopian world by presenting and discussing taboos around sexism, sexual assault and women's rights in general. We strongly believe that women's rights concern everyone and that only together we can create a real change.
supporting feminist art-equality in art is an activist movement and a charity both for justice and equality. The donation and support we will get will go directly to artists who want to be active, discuss and present the themes and above all offer new angles to support and encourage equality!
