Obeliai Historical Museum
The Museum of Partisan Glory in Nerubayske (Odessa, Ukraine). Initiative group of the Belyaevsky Disrtict of Odessa region.
We form groups of artists in Lithuania and Ukraine (8 persons each). Two workshops in re-branding of problem museums in both countries are held. Participants study each museum and its environment. During workshops they consider value conflicts, concepts of freedom, resistance to suppression of fundamental human rights, do exercises on promoting museums, integrating edutaintment practices and making them attractive for youth. Art products created in workshops are presented in final exhibitions.
Odessa, Ukraine; Rokiškis, Lithuania
We are addressing the most important problems of Eastern Europe - the problem of value of peace and the problem of unwillingness of the youth to stay in their countries that leads to emigration.
We aim to reach the unity of community on the basis of understanding historical processes that promoted creating and the existence of the states, the youth’s craving for staying in the homeland and to meet all challenges on the way of creation of democratic society and the prospering state.
Having wide experience of work with creative youth, we will carry out workshops based on work with historical and cultural heritage (museum collections), thematic trainings, creation of the material cultural product that is urged to draw attention to the above-mentioned problems and initiating dialogue, and final presentations on the basis of which this dialogue will be conducted.
Our target group is the youth from Ukraine and Lithuania, promoters of the idea of peace and the need of dialog will be creative youth from both countries, museums will be platforms for dialogue, partners are authorities and local government.
A peculiar feature of the project is that we promote our ideas by means of contemporary art and we consider that it is one of most convincing and universal languages for mutual understanding and drawing attention to this or that problem, especially to the problems of war and peace and the solution of the value conflicts. We are for cultural diplomacy as the most efficient way to build dialog.
