Engagement with "Europe" has to be made personal and addictive. We embrace human instincts and will taylor an interactive journalistic experience about Europe around them for maximized reach and engagement.
Members of the European Union have strong common interests and values like democracy, freedom of expression, human rights and rule of law. But they are separated in public media. There do not exist strong cross-European press or digital platforms that reflect an inherently European point of view. National press dominating the European course fail to engage large communities in a way that can even closely match the voluntary interactive communication in social networks of American origin. Existing digital community projects like Debating Europe, FactCheck EU, Publixphere and others do not focus on competitive user experience and are not rooted in addictive user engagement. OneEurope Next will change this and provide a single versatile place, while being open source.
One year from now thousands of users will have vitalized OneEurope Next and attract more and more Europeans with their publicly visible activity all across the platform which, assisted by a team of administrators and moderators, treats them as source of ideas, reflection and opinion. Journalists and participants will meet on the same level and can flip roles. A beneficiary of the idea will state something like this:
“Arriving at OneEurope, I was drawn in by the authentic grass-root journalism and the fascinating activity of the community permeating through the whole platform. Now I feel like part of a post-national European sphere. I have engaged with many likeminded people from all over Europe here and I am excited by the continuous development and implementation of new technology.”
A team of OneEurope will provide an array of particular functionality that lines out what exactly the platform should initially feature, how it should look and feel. Three months from now our developing team will start implementation with assistance of complementary specialists in IT and Design. All of this will be optimized with partners from different disciplines and generations who can provide various point of views. By the end of this year, the first beta phase will begin and new features will be rolled out step by step, each with individual beta phases. Early next year OneEurope will be ready for large numbers of participants. The vision for OneEurope Next will become visible one year from now. Our own team of creatives will continue advancing it without limit.
