How many reasons for joy does Europe have to offer today? To its citizens? To the world? What are the greatest challenges, what future Europe has? Search for answers with European artists and experts on political science, EU legislation, economy, ecology, sociology, philosophy, theology & art theory
Europe has become a big ship – with immigrants’ rickety boats trying to reach it, with terrorists’ bombs exploding on board, with its war past, as well as the futuristic concept of political & economic unification. Today it is sailing under the flag of democracy, peace, ethnic, religious, racial & gender tolerance. It is trying to maintain its course to liberalism & solidarity, develop the heritage of cultural maturity, and protect the environment. But what will its future look like in the upcoming turbulent times?
We find it critical to maintain a continuous dialogue on European values & its future. We want to establish this dialogue both by means of art & discussions with experts. The 2nd phase of the project aims at spreading the outcomes to other EU countries at partner festivals.
- An open and fruitful discussion open to general public with outstanding artists & professionals (political science, economy, ecology, sociology, philosophy, theology, culture studies) – discussing the matters of Europe's spiritual foundations, everyday life, the paradigm shift in both arts and society, the role of culture - its ability to create values in the lives of individuals & society.
- Reflection on questions and issues that dominate Europe and its ability to communicate with the world, deal with its past and, particularly, accept the present challenges – through performances, discussions, roundtables and conferences.
- A framework for a wider interdisciplinary debate on the past, present and future of Europe.
- Presentation of significant and emerging European artists.
