Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

LeadersWatch ranks politicians according to their democratic quality. It
aims to
• empower citizens, make politicians accountable and advocate for responsible democrats
• provide information for citizens to vote smartly by highlighting politicians who are doing their job well
• promote a positive incentives strategy to give more publicity to the hard work of political leaders who can have a positive impact

Where will your idea take place?

Madrid, Spain

Why does Europe need your idea?

Leaderswatch provides information to empower citizens and make politicians accountable. LW fills a gap in the range of existing political advocacy tools. Leaderswatch brings citizens to the stage!

What is your impact?

The data provided by LW, as an internet platform, will make accountability work from home and help citizens to vote smartly. Citizens will be able to get easy access to information about the work done by politicians.

How do you get there?

LeadersWatch (LW) will develop a set of web-based tools:

• The index of civic quality (ICQ)
• Internet polls
• Leadership map

LW will strengthen politicians’ positive incentives to improve their efficiency and democratic virtues. It aims to make the headlines by highlighting information about those legislators, town mayors, presidents and governors who are doing their job well.

What is your story?

I am from Argentina where bad and corrupt politicians making bad decisions have a huge impact in every day life. Since 2004 I live in Madrid where there is too much corruption. It is very difficult to understand why people vote for political parties and politicians who are involved in corruption.

Who are you doing it for?

Citizens, voters and politicians.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

I believe that LW can be an online platform or even a startup but I am only a political scientists so any ideas or suggestions on that direction will be great
