Art as a tool for people in conflict situation: through voice and listening to awareness and empathy
Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Outside of Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina
What seemed to be impossible is to have a war in the middle of Europe. The conflict situation is still not overcome until now. We see as a major importance for Europe to have real peace and we believe that sustainable peace requires more than cognitive and rational engagement.
The workshop can be done in all kind of situations and places requiring the transformation of relationships. It can be presented in all countries, in very different contexts such as sensitive urban areas, schools, therapeutic centers...
A successful outcome would be a group of people with an implemented desire for researching on non violent ways of communication. Furthermore that they are willing to see their surrounding behind the first layer of what is presented - images, projections or stories. And finally that they gain tools to develop their inner strength.
Here is a testimony from one of our workshop participant from Nagorno-Karabakh :'In this workshop I realized that the world isn't black or white and that there are a lot of colors in between. Even black and white have nuances.'
The workshops will take place in October 2015, one in Sarajevo and one in a city to be confirmed. From now on we will be working on the general organization -venues, transportation, accommodation, both for the workshops leaders and organizers and for the participants. In July and August artists and youngsters will be contacted and two groups of about 12 people each will be formed. Each workshop will last for three days and needs two days of preparation.
The workshop has already been held in Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Iran.
