Center for Research and Policy Making
We do believe that sustainable and green energy production in Macedonia will have domino effect on Europe’s energy green portfolio as well as energy supply security. Additionally, the decarbonization of the energy production will impact the air quality in Macedonia which during winter goes beyond 100 according to the Common Air Quality Index and present real threat to citizens’ lifes. That is why we need to hear people’s voice in detecting their familiarity and proposals for effective policies.
In all 8 statistical regions in Macedonia that face air pollution and energy supply challenges.
Macedonians and Europeans have modest participation in policies regarding energy security and green energy. Participating in these processes will strengthen the democratization of our continent. This will set a platform for personal contribute and sense of ownership in the environmental protection.
We will have tangible picture about the level of familiarity of this topic among the citizens, raise their awareness and attitude towards the energy, and contribute to tailor made and effective policies in collaboration with national officials.
Eight Malon Urbano actions will be done;on one panel local pedestrians will post what they know on energy efficiency (familiarity) and on other one what they expect to make their domestic energy consumption more efficient (expectations). Small kits will be hand out (bulbs, socket energy saving timers) so we will make contribution both in terms of the awareness and practice. The summary of the post its will be infused in a comprehensive policy paper that will be presented on a national conference.
Many European citizens face air pollution, but Skopje as well other mkd cities are leading cities. Green energy and effective use of it can contribute to less pollution and stable energy supply. CRPM wants Macedonia to breathe fresh air and contributing in it will cause great sense of ownership.
Our target groups are teenagers, parents, property owners and policy makers. By transmitting their voice to the policy makers and stakeholders, we believe that Macedonians will benefit from this action.
I would like to hear about the approach and the impact on the community as well as on the level of civic participation on such topic.
