Idea Sketch

Idea pitch

A leftist analytical media-portal which is unique in it's form and content in Georgia will organize regular discussions in public spaces about social, political and economic issues relevant for Georgia and challenges Europe faces today. Debates will be transformed into a creative process: Common decisions made by people of different ages and backgrounds will turn into civic initiatives and campaigns to influence political decision-making under general crisis of democracy.

Where will your idea take place?

Tbilisi, Georgia

Why does Europe need your idea?

Citizens will be directly involved in political processes aiming to strengthen democracy. Decisions made on the gatherings will not be limited to national issues only: we will apply our initiatives or recommendations to international organizations functioning in the frame of EU.

What is your impact?

We will influence political discourses, create an English version of the media-platform, thus every citizen of Europe can read/watch our projects and participate in discussions with local authors or make a publication/blog on our web-page about different issues.

How do you get there?

Most of the existing civic groups mainly unite people of similar interests or particular social group. While formed an audience of individuals from various backgrounds or age categories - they unite around the values of equality, solidarity, freedom and welfare. It will create a new type of civil union that will work with the "Agora" principle - It discusses Georgia and Europe (local and global issues) with direct democracy, in public spaces - forms decisions and acts.

What is your story?

Seeing people suffer from social inequality motivated us to figure out a way of solving it. But since problems are systemic, our efforts are not enough. Hence, needs an organization that can provide funds of transforming our personal efforts into systemic ones.

Who are you doing it for?

Contributors to our media platform include young researchers, students, lecturers and politicians. Our target audience is everyone who's interested in our ideas. With this project, we hope to work with the government, universities, social movements and European organizations.
