Bürger Europas e.V.
Our quiz aims to inform and inspire at least 10 thousand young Europeans in 10 countries at events in schools and youth clubs in an informative, exciting and entertaining way.
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland and Slovakia, 5 major cities per country, out of that 10 events in the Ruhr area
We are supporting the European idea by including thousands of young Europeans in an informative and exciting dialogue about Europe. Our events will not only fill their knowledge gaps, but also use good arguments to bring back their trust in Europe. Our idea is special in two ways: first, it’s a genius, completely new format to enter into dialogue with young Europeans; even complicated topics will get discussed in a playful and entertaining way. Second, it has a big transnational dimension with its 20 events in 10 countries. However, we are convinced that our idea has even more potential. It is our goal to use the quiz in the next years to get in touch with even more young Europeans. As far as we know, there is no comparable format existing so far.
If our project gets selected, within one year at least 10,000 young Europeans from 10 countries will get the chance to join a great event. Afterwards, our partners will have a sustainable format available and enough experience to continue organising such events in the following years. We believe that the majority of our young participants will be thrilled by our Europe quiz. They will say, during and after our quiz events: “I never would have suspected that Europe can be so diverse, so multifaceted and so interesting” or “We never heard those facts about Europe and the EU – and we never expected that”. We will convey the idea of Europe in an exciting, interesting and interactive way. Our project will contribute to repair the damaged bond of trust between Europe and its youth.
Our project starts in May 2015 with a training of all project partners in Berlin. It will contain information about the contents of the quiz as well as technical and organisational matters. Each partner will receive the software for the quiz and a fact book with information about all the questions and answers. Two partner organisations will share one technical voting system. From June to September 2015, the partners will prepare themselves and plan their events. From October 2015 to February 2016, 5 countries will host 20 events each. One event takes 90 minutes and includes 50 young participants. The host leads each quiz, in which 5–8 people can participate and may ask the audience for help two times. Therefore, an interactive and interesting atmosphere is created for all participants.
