Idea pitch

Trade has always been at the core of the exchanges between the EU and East Asia. The cooperation was also expanded to political, technical and cultural areas and diversified at different levels, from local to national to supranational. These ties will be intensified with the roll-out of China’s Belt & Road initiative. However, interactions at civil level are still lagging behind. Eurasian Civil Bridge provides a platform, to promote and facilitate cross-culture and cross-border cooperation.

Why does Europe need your idea?

Cross-border cooperation is at core of the EU integration process. It is thus effective to empower civil society actors to take active part in the cross-culture cooperation. By working with partners at international level, we can achieve this goal at a even higher level and build a common identity.

What is your impact?

At macro level, it helps to create a favourable environment by consolidating peace and stability, increasing exchange dynamics and improving governance effectiveness. How do you get there?

During the first initial phase outcome will be: an online virtual platform (www.euacb.org), regional meetings in Asia and Europe to mobilise in total 60 civil society actors, a reference annual conference from the 2nd year with 30 participants. During the second phase, the outcome will be: intensified regional meetings to mobilise more than 200 civil society actors, the reference annual conference, study tours in Europe and Asia, and opening of a cross-border cooperation incubator in Europe

By experiencing (studying, working and living) different cultures in Asian and European countries, I feel the communication should be further facilitated for efficient exchange and future cross-border cooperation, as answer to our common challenge.

Civil society stakeholders, academics, relevant business and governments representatives, strong and powerful network platform.
