EU.motion will urge the people in our communities to reflect on the recent changes the neighbourhoods are facing (migrations, tourism, gentrification), implementing community meetings, training courses and creating audiovisual material reflecting the stories and identities traversing the communities and disseminating them internationally. We aim at a deeper reflection on cultural identity and exchange and a better understanding of how we perceive European values and the sense of belonging.

Why does Europe need your idea?

In EU.motion, people in our communities will have a voice, fostering a reflection on the current European dynamics, which translates into a strenghtened ability to ponder different aspects of their realities and to take decisions regarding their communities and integrating European values.

What is your impact?

One year after EU.motion, the participants of each phase will be more able to intervene in their communities, to influence and act upon their environments. 7 events/exhibitions of the videos held in 7 countries and 350 people will be more emphatic towards "the other" in a multicultural Europe.

How do you get there?

1st we’ll create 20videos with narratives of people in our communities reflecting notions of community/identity, in a process guided by 1director and 1social researcher using the biographical method inspired by Chicago School theories.Starting with community meetings and training courses for the ones who will participate in the creative process.2nd we'll disseminate in 5other EU countries through a network AMC is part of, the videos and a manual documenting the process and the method that we use

What is your story?

Considering the substantial changes that our communities are undergoing in recent years, we want to understand in which ways the people living here integrate these changes and what voice can they have to control and direct these changes - do they feel like they have the power to do so?

Who are you doing it for?

We define two target groups: the communities where our work is focused (Bairro Alto and Arcella) and the general population of our cities (Lisbon and Padua) and of Greece, Germany, Poland, Luxembourg and Spain, countries where we will disseminate the results and the process through our partner NGOs.

What do you need from the Advocate Europe community?

We would like to have your feedback, with honest critic so that we can improve the proposal we have.
