engagée encompasses an open idea-room combined with a journal for political and philosophical debates with free forms of expression. Having the topic of engagement in center of debates, respective movie screenings, public debates, exhibitions, and text scorings will be essential parts of engagée.

The European continent has a unique history, with the background of the Peace of Westphalia and the idea of enlightenment. Now that the national borders of the EU countries are disappearing more and more and riots in several EU states are significantly growing, it is necessary to find new mindsets and concepts of living within our societies. Understanding essential societal contexts is the basis for removing prejudices and shaping a critical mind while expressing the own thoughts, fears and feelings publicly will shape the living together in Europe fundamentally. engagée is open to all people and not restricted to a particular religion, race or other category. We want to reach people working in fields not professionally related to politics or philosophy and also professionals.
The overall aim is to move people to think and act more about themselves as a part of the European society, not only as an individual. The very practical implementation of text production and artwork contributes to a profound feeling of the own creativity and role in society. Due to the free forms of contributions, it makes room for forms of text-production which are not necessarily defined by specific formal requirements, as e.g. for scientific writing.
Providing space for this will be a motivation for people to become a responsible citizen.
